“It is not a priority”

I thought I would quickly share a blog post that I found written by one of the many awesome bloggers that I follow on ‘making the most of our down time’. I really enjoyed how she uses the phrase “It is not a priority” rather than “I don’t have time”. Since I have recently been faced with a lot of “downtime” when I bump into people, I am often faced with the question, “So what are you up to at the moment?”. This question is super hard to answer when the answer isn’t as simple as “Ohhh I am working John Lewis or I am just back from uni for the summer alongside a bit of travelling” because what else do 20 year olds do??? Well at this particular moment I don’t do either and don’t have a simple answer.. HOWEVER this doesn’t mean I am doing nothing, some days I am actually really busy ((though some are quite quiet..but everyone needs some quiet downtime)).

So at the moment, I prioritise all things that I enjoy doing, like baking, walking, playing a sport ((there are sosososo many more but I won’t go into that now)). I admit that yes I do have a lot more time do the things I love than those at university or in full-time work, but I thought that this post is just a nice little reminder that utilising free time is fun and there is actually so much more time to squeeze in..

“Think of it like this: if you work 40 hours a week and manage to get the recommended 8 hours of sleep a night, that leaves you with 72 hours when you’re not working.”

..so many fun things and to make them a priority. Whether or not your priority for that day is watching 4 episodes of game of thrones or going to the garden centre…who cares just do what you love and make the most of every second.

Have a fab day! xxx
